A healthy sigh!
The Wellness menu at Aura and Aqua at The Park gives health a good name
It is a clichéd thought that the words ‘health’ and ‘taste’ never go hand in hand when it comes to food. And we're not even saying that it is a misconception. All we're saying is that there is always an exception to the rule. The Wellness menu at Aqua & Aura at The Park is certainly one such exception.
Hurrah, then! Because you're not expected to, well, expect a rabbit's meal.
1x1 polls
There are enough luscious veggies and meats to make your taste buds do a hop, skip and jump (see, the benefits of health have already showing themselves). Down to business, we're served health juices in shot glasses. A shot each of Carrot Spritzer (with carrot, spirulina, pear and mint), Health Elixir (with pomegranate, beetroot and celery) and De-tox (tomato, avocado, cucumber, ginger and lime) sets you in the mood for better things to come. And then they come. We enjoy skewers of barbecued chicken (smoked chicken with palm heart and avocado salsa) for starters. The meat is so tender that it literally melts in your mouth as the fresh flavour of avocado sets in. The main course itself comes in the form of packages, like Health (which is a salad meal), Soup, Spa (a full meal within 500 calories), Sandwich, Italian (three types on pasta to choose from), Low-carb Seafood, Ayurvedic, Mediterranean, Protein and Japanese. The Grilled Tenderloin Steak from the Protein section is heaven. The shallot jus that it comes covered in complements the meat brilliantly, while the succulent mushrooms and grilled asparagus by the side make you sigh in contentment. The Italian section offers us the whole wheat penne with morel, button mushrooms ragu and arugula (a delightful herb). Another winner, this one. The sauce is as rich as can be and the dish is tastier than most regular pastas. We also order the Whole Wheat Bread Sandwich with grilled vegetables, which is dry and not something we would try again.
For dessert, we have the cheesecake, which has no cheese in it. It instead uses low-fat yoghurt and is wow! The Orange Sorbet is another ace but we recommend you say no to the Green Tea Gelato.
The menu is a combined effort of chef Rajesh’s culinary expertise and Dr Anuradha Mathad’s ayurveda knowledge and can be enjoyed both in the spa and the restaurant.
Health has never been such a pleasure. The fact that you will be indulging in one of the seven deadly sins can be easily discounted because, come on, it's all for health!
